All-Electric Powertrain
A capable e4WD system propels the GMC HUMMER EV. The system powering the entry-level EV 2X trim features two electric motors and a 20-module battery, generating a robust 570 horsepower and 7,400 lb-ft of torque in both the SUV and pickup variants. The e4WD system’s instantaneous torque delivery to all four wheels makes the HUMMER EV immensely capable both on and beyond the pavement.
At the EV 3X trim level, the HUMMER EV’s full electric might is unleashed. Its e4WD system incorporates three electric motors, producing 830 hp and 11,500 lb-ft of torque with the standard battery and up to 1,000 hp and 11,500 lb-ft of torque with the available 24-module battery (only offered on the HUMMER EV Pickup 3X). With Watts to Freedom, both the pickup and SUV variants of the EV 3X are capable of hitting 60 mph in under 3.5 seconds.
Impressive Driving Range
On a full charge, the HUMMER EV Pickup 2X drives an outstanding 318 miles, while the HUMMER EV SUV 2X follows closely behind with a range of 315 miles. The more powerful HUMMER EV SUV 3X trades some of its driving range for performance, offering a still-impressive 312 miles. The HUMMER EV Pickup 3X, on the other hand, extends the maximum range to 367 miles with the available, more capacious 24-module battery pack.
Innovative Off-Road Technology
The HUMMER EV comes prepared to take on rugged terrain, featuring a well-armored underbody and up to 12 inches of ground clearance. When encountering a natural barrier, such as a fallen tree trunk or a particularly large boulder, you can increase the HUMMER EV’s ground clearance by four inches by engaging Extract Mode. The increased ground clearance also allows the HUMMER EV SUV and pickup to drive through 32-inch deep puddles of water.
Other off-road technologies include 4-Wheel Steer and CrabWalk. 4-Wheel Steer turns the HUMMER EV’s rear wheels in the opposite direction of the front ones, helping the vehicle make sharper turns. Meanwhile, CrabWalk turns all four wheels in the same direction, allowing the HUMMER EV to move diagonally.
