Trim Levels (Exterior)
In 2023, the Yukon debuts a brand-new top trim level, the Denali Ultimate, which raises the trim choices to five. The base trim is the SLE, which is followed by the SLT and AT4. For true luxury, the Denali comes next, and the top trim with all the bells and whistles is the Denali Ultimate. Exterior features include advanced LED lighting as well as premium wheel options from 18-inch machined aluminum to 22-inch bright premium paint machined aluminum. The AT4 offers front skid plates and a superior off-road front approach angle.
Engine (Power)
The 2023 GMC Yukon has three available powertrains, all mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The first is a 5.3-liter V-8 engine that delivers 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. Next up is a 6.2-liter V-8 with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet. Finally, you can opt for a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine that delivers 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The diesel option is available on the SLE, SLT, and Denali only.
Performance
The new GMC Yukon can sprint from 0 to 60 in just 6.6 seconds with the 6.2-liter V-8 engine, which is among the fastest times in its segment. In terms of towing, the Yukon gets the job done with four-wheel drive and the 6.2-liter engine. With this configuration, the towing capacity reaches 8,000 pounds. With the 5.2-liter engine and rear-wheel drive, you net a maximum towing capacity of 8,400 pounds. The AT4 trim also gives you tow hooks, skid plates, adaptive suspension dampers, and other outstanding off-road features.
Interior
The Yukon also has a vast cabin, with 25.5 cubic feet of storage behind the third row, expandable to 122.9 cubic feet with all the seats folded down. There is plenty of room for adults to stretch out comfortably in all three rows. You also get luxurious features like leather upholstery starting at the SLT trim. The materials are all high-quality throughout. Technology is driven by a 10.2-inch touchscreen with Google integration, and the Denali Ultimate offers a dual 12.6-inch rear entertainment system.
Safety Features
Safety features at the base level include front crash mitigation and lane-keeping assist. The GMC Pro Safety Plus Package adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alerts. The SLT Luxury Package adds a surround-view top-down camera system and adaptive cruise control. The Denali Advanced Technology Package offers hands-free driving technology and rear automatic emergency braking. Step it up to the Denali Ultimate trim level, and you get everything above plus additional exterior cameras that allow you to monitor your trailer from the inside.
