2022 GMC Canyon
The 2022 GMC Canyon is a dynamic pickup truck with all of the rugged capabilities you're looking for and none of the unnecessary bulk that weighs other trucks down. Plus, it gives you tons of amenities that will make every ride more enjoyable and cutting-edge safety technology to help you drive with confidence. Best of all, its striking design is sure to turn heads wherever it goes.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
With four fun trim levels to choose from, it's easy to find the 2022 Canyon that's right for you. On the Elevation Standard and Elevation models, you'll find a body-colored grille with black accents, black-painted aluminum wheels measuring 18 inches, and all-season blackwall tires. The AT4's grille has a stunning black chrome finish that contrasts nicely with red recovery hooks. The AT4 also features Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires measuring 31 inches. As the top trim in the Canyon lineup, the Denali gets diamond-cut wheels measuring 20 inches, projector-beam headlights, and LED fog lights. Desert Sand, Dynamic Blue, and Cayenne Red are just a few of your exterior color options.
Engine (Power)
No matter what trim level you choose, you can count on your Canyon to perform powerfully. Pop open the Elevation Standard's hood, and you'll find a 308-horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 engine that generates 275 pound-feet of torque. With upper trim levels, you have the option of equipping your Canyon with a 181-horsepower 2.8-liter Duramax turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine that puts out 369 pound-feet of torque. When equipped with the turbo-diesel engine, the Canyon gets a 7,700-pound towing capacity and can handle a 1,470-pound payload. The robust turbo-diesel engine is also efficient, giving the Canyon a 30 mpg highway rating.
Performance
Both engines in the Canyon lineup pair with equally incredible performance dynamics. If you equip your Canyon with the V-6, it will come with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while turbo-diesel models get a six-speed automatic. Both systems optimize engine output while enabling the Canyon to accelerate precisely and handle effortlessly. All models come standard with two-wheel drive. If you enjoy venturing off-road, consider equipping your Canyon with the available four-wheel drive, which accurately distributes torque to all four wheels for maximum traction and control. The StabiliTrak system prevents traction loss, giving you more stability on wet roads and other unstable surfaces.
Interior
The 2022 Canyon seats five with plenty of headroom and legroom for everyone. Inside the Elevation Standard and Elevation, you'll find premium cloth seating surfaces that are comfortable and easy to clean. If you add the Elevation Premium Package, your Canyon will come with heated and ventilated leather-trimmed seats and a heated steering wheel. The AT4's black leather seating surfaces pair nicely with Kalahari accents, and the Denali features perforated leather seating surfaces and genuine ash wood accents. With the GMC Infotainment system, available in all models, you can access playlists, get navigation assistance, and send hands-free texts.
Safety Features
On top of its impressive performance and luxurious amenities, the Canyon also gives you plenty of features that will keep you safe and secure. A forward-collision alert scans the road for hazards, applying the brakes as needed. A lane-departure alert prevents unintentional drifting. If you have a teen driver in the family, you'll appreciate the Canyon's Teen Driver technology, which helps develop safe driving habits.
